Active Senior Living through
Arts, Culture and Lifelong Learning

When our community members tell us what they like about the Valley Manor lifestyle, they tell us that they not only enjoy the number of activities we offer, but more importantly, they enjoy the quality of the activities and events. Located in the heart of the Arts & Cultural and the Landmark districts of Rochester, we are enthusiastic participants! In addition to our own public art gallery, Valley Manor offers a full calendar with special interest groups, exercise programs, social events and day trips in collaboration with Rochester's leading arts and cultural organizations.

The Valley Manor Residents Association

One of the most active associations around, the Valley Manor  Residents Association is run by the residents, for the residents.

The Association plans and coordinates monthly programs open to all residents of Valley Manor, including: art and literature seminars, educational forums, concerts, shopping excursions, holiday celebrations, cultural outings, and religious services.
The Association's Welcoming Committee insures that new residents find their niche
and easily connect with the activities that reflect their interests and hobbies.

VMRA's recent day trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario featured shopping, dining and the Royal George Theatre's production of Harvey.

The 1570 Gallery

Described by a leading area artist as
"a jewel of an art gallery", the 1570 Gallery at Valley Manor opened in 1985 as a cultural center for residents and non-residents alike. It was designed to professionally exhibit the works of accomplished regional and national artists and to celebrate the diversity of art in our community. The multi-media exhibits change about every two months and feature an opening evening reception complete with guests, flowers, music and hors d'oeuvres.

The 1570 Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
